The Big Step

As in putting myself out there, baring all, sharing my wares...

DD Galleries has been up technically since November 1st. I had some issues with the mail form. I can script, but I cannot program. And there has yet to be a truly userfriendly script available, whose directions right off the bat result in success. I'll save my beef about UNIX programmers and their useless MAN pages for another post.

Back on the subject of putting myself out there, baring all, sharing my wares...

I've had a mental block over anything which is actually important to my life. While planning this site, I knocked off My Pets in about two days. My Pets is fun stuff, unimportant to my destiny - unless there's a happy accident manifest from its existence. I make lots of sites. But the ones that matter throw me into not just a mental block, but an electrified mental brick wall. The ole fear of success I keep encountering in Tarot readings. That's me all over. I can't do business, but if you want me to help you haggle for a good price in a marketplace, I'll be a pro.

Did I digress again?

See? I have a mental block even talking about it.

So this new site shows off some of my work. Literally a fraction of my repertoire. I was considering even some drawing room nudes, but there's just so much you can put up before you overhwelm people. I don't want to brain people with an avalanche of imagery, just keep them engrossed and perhaps persuaded to come back for more.

But that's not the only thing about this site. I'm just getting to it...

I'm offering my services. Draw RPG and sim role play characters for people. I think it would be fun, while at the same time help them visualize their online identities. Sort of reach that get paid to do what I already do, get paid to have fun, start a business, and if it never comes of anything, it's okay too.

Well, it's not. I have my medical care to think about. But I won't count chickens.

Maybe someone will hire me to design their website. I can't get a job as a webmaster because I can't program (see paragraph one). But I can still make some damn good sites. It's all in the layout and graphics. I can make a site look like something, yet load surprisingly fast (depending upon the server, of course) and accommodate most browsers all the way back to Netscape 2 for 16bit. You need to show off something? You need to impart info? I can make it happen and look good in the process. Funny how there's no official market for this...

Linkware. Man I could die from the linkware I've seen. And I can do some too and plan to offer free graphical sets if people link back to me. But alas, my monitor sucketh since late May. It's a wonder I came up with my graphics for this site altogether (unless of course I came up with the scheme in April. Heh).

And it might not be the monitor but rather the motherboard. I'll be you can imagine what I'd rather call that. I need to upgrade. Maybe I'll make the holiday quota at work, or maybe I'll get some commissioned art assignments. Nothing will go to waste...
