It's Only a Bloody Game · Pt 4
Sometimes it's just not worth the bother.

Alleging that "Puck" had resolved to make amends (for whatever motives; I already went over the nature of a Puckish persona), I was asked by the clan captain to consider unignoring him.

I sent her by e-mail essentially an outline of what he did to get that ignore, and a request that he behave civil with no underhandedness and no backstabbing. He would e-mail me an acknowledgment. You would think something like that would be within reason, wouldn't you?

Apparently not. I heard nothing for an entire week. Then a reply from the captain arrived: Would I be willing to discuss terms with the co-captain, who would now share full clan responsibilities? The formerly understanding human being I trusted turned 180°, and suddenly someone responsible for compromising the integrity of the group and defamed a member has been promoted.

I discussed the matter with IMGleeful, who admitted that the majority of the Terrible Trio gave him the willies. His advice was sound: People who are pretty awful aren't likely to change for the better (and I know that people who start off meaning well can easily change for the worse under just the right pressure).

It's hard to believe that things have changed so much in such a short time. But that's the nature of the medium: Hard and fast. All you need is one or two people to throw it all off course
