Eager to see you

Eager to see you

They miss me.

Eddy has been in his Gowron avatar (this bug-eyed Klingon from TNG and DS9), skating up and down the ramp of Virtual Worlds colony. Sometimes I join him. I look silly doing it since my legs don't move, and I just slide like some stiff plank of wood.

Then, Waxy showed up at my door Sunday afternoon. Eddy was there visiting, and the two stayed for about two hours.

I was interrupted several times by the irritating Dr. Flox (don't ask), who was having several cows because someone had allegedly moved a stasis tank in club Sickbay (Sickbay is currently under construction; a friend is designing biobeds. I have three Trek series of Doctors with access rights, meaning they CAN move the furniture). Since nothing had been moved in months, it's odd that suddenly with his access activated something has been. He ran to the mall to buy a hit counter, and slipped it behind the wall. If anyone shows up, it might tell us who's been there. All this in a separate window while chatting with Waxy and Eddy about how more and more disillusioned they were with Sci Fi Colony.

Waxy is in a unique position: a block almost full in Star Trek Hood. It's his mini empire, and even though the neighborhood management there is no less unscrupulous than the rest of Sci Fi, he's content to exist in his own little mental bubble and manage his block of avid fans. So far.

So they hung out with me. They miss my hanging with them in Sci Fi plaza, swapping bartending chores with Imzadi and greeting newcomers. I suppose I ought to get a bar for the property. The one that comes with the house is in the living room and nobody goes there except for parties.

meeting notice

Trouble in paradise already?

A Neighborhood Deputy has confided in me about her concerns. Our Neighborhood is amazingly well ranked in the colony's stats, and yet it's dominated with sparsely populated blocks. A few heavily settled blocks are making this (and no doubt our modest, down-to-16-homes block helps).

Her concerns are founded. A block may well consist of one of the other ND's just settling herself with a whole flock of contrived identities. I checked the source code and many led to her two domain sites. It's also possible she's violating regulations by posing as a Block Leader and one of he Block Deputies. You cannot hold these titles under another ID. And of course only the technologically dimwitted don't realize that the logins can be checked and the connect addresses matched up.

Apparently our NL (leader) has turned a blind eye out of debt obligation, but has actually opened up possibilities with an expressed desire to "retire." I think that means she wants to get some rest AND let the good ND step in and make the moves. Good ND didn't get the initial hint I don't think.

She believes enlisting me as an ally was a great thing. I hope she's right. But why do I see myself becoming an ND in this? Just so long as she lets me BL my block of friends. As 'hood deputies we can> double up and run a block, just not earn both pays by having two IDs each with each job description.

I also learned something else about the area we moved to. It was the very first neighborhood in Cybertown! It's the historic district! Explains its diverse block names, true, but this knowledge opens up a world of possibilities.

©DD. I know who I am, and you know who you are, and you're not me, so don't use something of mine unless I say it's okay. I made the graphics from scratch, and the web elements with a simple text editor. Being the nature of this is a personal journal, there's really no room for argument. Either you agree or disagree, either you choose to read this or you do not. Each of us has our story, the impact of the sum of parts that is life which carve the lessons into our mind. If my perceptions amuse you, then I've done my part. Thank you for visiting and continuing to visit.
