My Second Week in Cybertown

My Second Week in Cybertown

Self-portrait, captured during a fortuitous paradox.

How long has it been? What an incredible time I've been having! I tell ya, there's nothing like a fast PC and a broadband connection. The moves are purely fluidic. In fact, I think the single most marvelous time I had so far was when three of us played tag last week in the Sci-Fi plaza...

...I remember: waiting around the corner at the mouth of a long corridor, and as soon as the guy appeared, I zipped by behind him and into the tube. "Hey! Someone just went past me!" he said. And then when they were after eachother, and were hiding behind structures on opposite sides of the main room. I could see both of them just standing there, each waiting for the other to make a move and show themselves. I started laughing hysterically.

The second most hysterical moment was when someone came in as the head of Elvis Presley. He was this flat cutout photo with beady animated eyes a la Terry Gilliam. It was really something to behold.

I've gotten to know the Sci Fi regulars who hang out. They're nice, mostly older than teens, and some of them very creative.

I managed to get myself a modest house. I started in the Starfleet Command block. When there was zero activity, I moved to another Voyager block outside of Star Fleet. Someone had initially offered Seven and I CC's (their currency) to move to his block, but as soon as we showed interest, he forgot about the offer. When confronted, he made believe he didn't know me. The stench of a teen should have had me on my guard. Their word is never any good, and they cannot be counted on to commit to anything. Every single time I thought I'd found an exception, they proved their true nature in due time.

Seven really loves the place. But she has more faimilial commitments, so she'll hang out with me in with my house the time she is able to. Right now she is on vacation, and I am on my own to furnish the place. I've gotten in touch with a couple of my favorite designers, even having bartered a tarot reading for additional furniture. They get a counseling session, while I get pretty stuff for my rooms ;)

More later, as well as a review on my Vir-con experience (expect ruthlessness).

Lunchtime

It's funny how in the middle of the day, everybody walks around Midtown Manhattan with white plastic bags. I just never noticed it before...

©DD. I know who I am, and you know who you are, and you're not me, so don't use something of mine unless I say it's okay. I made the graphics from scratch, and the web elements with a simple text editor. Being the nature of this is a personal journal, there's really no room for argument. Either you agree or disagree, either you choose to read this or you do not. Each of us has our story, the impact of the sum of parts that is life which carve the lessons into our mind. If my perceptions amuse you, then I've done my part. Thank you for visiting and continuing to visit.
