Shakeups in the Virtual Entertainment World

March 9, 2004

I left the arena.

You already know about Tripod the pseudostalker. It didn't help that my boss there turned out to be dragged into some business venture with the guyto raise 12,000 bucks for a type 7 server to start a rival community. Yes, he rips people off in make-believe and now plans to rip people off in real life.

This isn't the half of it. The chief of the ePlex - some snotty-nosed little kid (why are these types allowed into high positions?) and by nature gullible to grandiose suggestion, was not only pissed off no longer than about 5 minutes after the robbery before he wanted to hire Tripod again, but it turns out has been lured into said business venture as a co-founder!

I'd spoken with the mayor on a couple of occasions about alternatives, and she even tipped me off about an opening which had yet to be announced. I'll give her that; she stood up for me before. She was aware of the increasing frustration we felt as less and less it seemed the city's promotional resources left us by the wayside and attendance dipped due to rival events. And yes, despite my hopelessly cynical nature, it still means something when someone offers you praise or sympathizes. [more]

Pocket PC Field Test March 1

In a Squashed seat it may be uncomfortable but I managed to set up two appointments. Fingers tingle from raising my hands for so long.

Evening Commute: an interesting experience as I type during a bumpy ride - heyyy... this thing IS great!

The .input mode for all you mobile savvy types out there is "Letter Recognizer," which reads my writing and offers suggestions I can choose to click on if they're correct. I can see how valuable a tablet would be as it uorks under the same principle.

(It got so irritating writing by hand and then trying to decipher my handwriting later. Now I can write one time)

©DD. I know who I am, and you know who you are, and you're not me, so don't use something of mine unless I say it's okay. I made the graphics from scratch, and the web elements with a simple text editor. Being the nature of this is a personal journal, there's really no room for argument. Either you agree or disagree, either you choose to read this or you do not. Each of us has our story, the impact of the sum of parts that is life which carve the lessons into our mind. If my perceptions amuse you, then I've done my part. Thank you for visiting and continuing to visit.
